A picture of my new dyeingcauldron. Its not authentic - I know- but it will have to do for now. In my experience dyeing in copper cauldrons gives a good result. Copper used as a mordant normally gives a yellowish tinge to the colours and therefore it is difficult to see the effect when dyeing mainly with yellow, yellowgreen and red colours. I am going to dye with indigo later this summer and I am looking foreward to see the result in the copper cauldron compared with my enamelled pot that I use on the stowe at home. Its difficult to compare dyeing in a coppercauldron over a fire with the results i get at home using a thermometer. But I will try to compare this summer, smugling out a thermometer now and then.
